SUSTAINABILITY AT IBEW

BCA International and RX Singapore, the event organisers, are dedicated driver of sustainability efforts.

At IBEW, we strive to reduce carbon emissions and improve waste management. Given the complex nature of our supply chain and the emissions associated with organising an event, it is only by working together can we reduce our environmental impact. We invite you to join us on this journey.

Our Actions Towards a Greener Future

Selecting the Right Partners

Marina Bay Sands (MBS) is triple platinum certified by the Building and Construction Authority, the US Green Building Council, and the Events Industry Council. It also holds ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management certification and is Singapore’s first carbon-neutral event venue.

Low Carbon Travel

We encourage all attendees to use public transport or carpool to minimise carbon emissions.

Conductive Business Environment

The venue is kept at a comfortable 25 degree Celsius to balance both comfort and energy efficiency.

Recycle & Reuse

Recycling bins are placed throughout the halls to promote recycling, and collection boxes at exits to gather event lanyards for reuse.

Reduced Printing

We minimise print materials, with the Show Directory and Floorplan available online. We also utilise digital signage wherever possible.

Reduce the Use of Plastic

We no longer use plastic holders for Passes. Plastic bottled water & straws are not provided to reduce one-time use plastic. We encourage all attendees to bring your own reusable water bottles to refill onsite.

Food Waste Management

Beside donating excess food to local charities, our venue partner, MBS, is equipped with five onsite digesters to process food trimmings and plate waste into greywater. As organisers, we select Chef’s choice menu to optimise ingredient use and minimise wastage.

Water Management

To reduce laundry services, no seat covers will be used at the event.

The RX Journey to Net Zero

RX is a founding members of the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge to make our company, our shows and the wider events industry net zero. We commit to being Net Zero by 2040 and to make a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

In 2023, we published our pathway to net zero, setting out our reduction strategy with key milestones for all our shows. Given the complex nature of our supply chain and the emissions associated with a show, it is only by working together as an industry that we will be able to reduce our impact. We are building a company of net zero heroes to take action and ensure a sustainable future.
