Register & embark on these Learning Journeys to visit exemplary projects across Singapore to gain first-hand experience on how innovative built environment solutions work under real situations.

Price: S$90 per site

Important Note:

  • Learning Journeys can be purchased individually or as add-ons for IBEW Conference 2024 delegates
  • Learning Journeys scheduled under each session (AM/PM) will depart at the same time
  • Each attendee may only select up to TWO (2) Learning Journeys - ONE (1) in the morning (AM: 9am-12pm) and ONE (1) in the afternoon (PM: 2pm-5pm)
  • Attendees must be dressed in Business Casual, with long pants & comfortable covered shoes
  • For selected sites, attendees are required to bring their own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), such as hard hat, safety boots, & safety vest. Attendees may be denied access to the site(s) if they fail to adhere to these safety requirements
  • IBEW Conference 2024 delegates are entitled to lunch at BEX Asia floor before or after their respective Learning Journey(s) by presenting their IBEW Conference 2024 pass
  • Attendees who registered for Learning Journeys only, and are going on both AM & PM sessions, will be entitled to lunch at BEX Asia floor. A lunch coupon will be provided for redemption
  • Attendees must provide a contactable mobile phone number during registration
  • Successful registrants shall receive more information via email 3 days prior to the Learning Journeys to inform you on the respective site requirements & regulations
  • All Learning Journeys have limited capacity, and are on a first-come first-served basis
  • The organiser reserves the right to deny participation if regulations are not adhered to

Project Summary

  • FARM collaborated with the client to provide a holistic proposal to secure the site for a short-term lease based on the rejuvenation of the former Nan Chiau High School – exploring the potential of the school building to evolve into a focal point for the neighbourhood. 
  • The design strategy celebrates the existing building fabric and historical features, forming a creative cluster with flexible spaces for interaction, play and creation while preserving the characteristic architecture and spatiality of the old school grounds.

Overview

  • Singapore Polytechnic's learning journeys are designed to drive significant business and workforce transformation through specialised programmes in AI and HR, positioning organisations for success in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

AI Learning Journey (AILJ)

  • Co-developed by Singapore Polytechnic and AI Singapore, the AI Learning Journey showcases practical AI solutions and equips employees with skills to support data-driven digital transformation.
  • Focuses on enabling companies to leverage AI technologies effectively to enhance business processes and competitiveness in the digital age.

Human Resource Learning Journey (HRLJ)

  • Co-developed with the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP), the HR Learning Journey focuses on Onboarding, Performance Management, and Learning and Development to advance HR as a strategic business driver.
  • The newly launched HR Learning Journey: Building Companies of Good - People (BCOG-People), developed in collaboration with the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP), aims to foster sustainable people strategies for corporate wellness and business performance, emphasising skills development and career transition support for a resilient workforce.

Project Summary

  • Kajima’s brand-new regional headquarters, The GEAR: Kajima Lab for Global Engineering, Architecture & Real Estate, sits on a 5,232sqm plot at Changi Business Park.
  • Kajima has invested S$100 million to develop the 6-storey building spanning 13,061.17sqm of GFA, to house approximately 250 of its local staff and will welcome the wider community of built environment innovators and disrupters to co-locate at its open innovation hub on level .
  • The GEAR is equipped with 5 laboratories (namely, the Human Centric Design Lab, Construction Robotics Lab, Digital Tech Lab, Environmental Engineering Lab, and Underground Space Creation Lab).
  • As a smart building, the building itself is a testbed for new solutions and is a living lab for experimentation, exploration, and co-creation.
  • At The GEAR, Kajima will adopt open innovation, conduct R&D on advanced built environment technologies, and testbed solutions for productivity improvement, sustainability, and occupant wellness.

Project Summary

As our cities age, many older buildings are ripe to reap the benefits of a well thought out retrofitting project, bringing it to today’s standards in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency. At UWCSEA’s Dover Campus, a 50-year-old campus has made headlines for its retrofitting project that cleverly incorporates a Open Source Digital Dashboard and new technology to achieve the Green Mark Super Low Energy Platinum (GM SLE Platinum) accreditation. Learn about how an integrated design approach over multiple phases of building could carry forward a decades-old structure to serve future needs of the community and sustainability.
